We invite you to join us not only as visitors attending meditation retreats and courses, but also as volunteers who lend a hand, as donors whose contributions support the growth of this place, or as members of the community who share in communal life and practice.

Support the noble work of Tomáš Dhammadipa

Get involved in the spiritual and community project of Shanta Vana and help build a place where quiet, peace, wisdom, and shared awakening can flourish.

Shanta Vana covers an area of about 10,000 square meters, with three houses, a kuti awaiting renovation, and a communal Barn under construction — the future heart of Shanta Vana. This space offers vast potential for the creative realization of spiritual, community, and ecological values. Together, we can create a place where beings find liberation, stillness, and wisdom.

A medicinal and edible community garden, natural medicine, a library, the organization of meditation retreats and various courses, movement and visual arts — and above all, the cultivation of mind and heart — form the foundational pillars on which we build.

Shanta Vana is growing step by step through the generosity and cooperation of many people.

Help complete the construction of the Barn

Our main project is the completion of the communal building — the Shanta Vana Barn — which will become the heart of the entire center.

We are currently missing a site manager / project coordinator and are looking for someone who could help with organizing and coordinating the work.

If you have experience with construction, organization, or simply the willingness to contribute in a practical way — please get in touch with us.

How you can help

Every crown, every brick, every bit of help contributes to creating a space where people awaken to peace, wisdom, and compassion.

Financially

The completion of the communal Barn building requires approximately 3,000,000 CZK. It is a large sum, but it is built step by step — even a small contribution becomes part of a greater work that brings peace and awakening to many. Donations can be made through the Dhammadipa Foundation:

Communal life and practice

The environment and the people we are in contact with directly influence what we can achieve and how far we progress on the path.

In the Buddhist tradition, there is the concept of Sabrahmacharins — companions on the path. It means living, practicing, and sharing the practice with those who have the same goal — awakening. Such communal living provides support, inspiration, and the strength to continue even when the path is challenging.

The Sangha, or community of practitioners, is one of the three refuges of the Buddha’s teaching (Buddha, Dhamma, Sangha). It represents a community of people who support each other in cultivating morality, concentration, and wisdom. The Sangha is not just a group of individuals, but also a space of shared energy: when others meditate, it is easier to join in; when someone maintains discipline, they naturally inspire others. The Sangha is not only a refuge for the individual, but a path toward collective awakening

At Shanta Vana, we wish to bring together people who are dedicated to cultivating mind and heart, who share a common practice, intention, and discipline, and who support each other. When we have companions walking the same path, it helps us stay firmly on it with determination.

We offer the opportunity to join in communal life and practice — initially as a visitor for a few days, a week, or a month, and later — if we are mutually aligned and life in the community unfolds harmoniously — as a long-term resident of Shanta Vana.
